Congratulations to our Founder and Director Melanie McKenzie in being voted,
by the community to be Helensvale’s Westfields Local Hero.

Melanie had been chosen as a finalist to be Westfields Local Hero, 6 finalists went out to the community vote and our very own Melanie McKenzie was selected to be one of the three finalists.

Westfields gifted $10,000 to Harrison’s Little Wings. Harrison’s Little Wings will spend a proportion of the funds on a much needed database to help us communicate more effectively. This database will also help us to measure impact and track the support we are providing the community. The other remaining funds will be allocated to our Practical Support Program. Covid has certainly caused havoc on families going through a complex pregnancy. Families are unable to access support from extended families due to restricted travel, so the need for our Practical Support has risen astronomically. We are proud to have risen to the occasion, and have provided an extensive practical support program.
